I'm Back!

I've been absent. 

From the blog, but also from the country. 

In general, things got really busy with student teaching and life that I wasn't being very consistent with my posts. And then, I went to Nigeria for two and a half weeks, and had hoped to blog there. But, honestly, I was having way too much fun catching up with family and friends that, while not forgotten, my friends here took a backseat. Sorry! :/

In my defense, though, internet speed for where I was in Nigeria wasn't the greatest, and was online only enough to...

... get a job for the summer! 

That's right! I'm employed again! Well... for at least the next six weeks. I'll be working with Teach for America. It's a communications gig. It'll be in Houston, which I'm pretty excited about. I have quite a few good friends down there, plus there's my precious nephew :) 

There's so much to do, and so little time, so I'm off!

Just wanted to say that while taking a break was fabulous, and while I enjoyed the time I had to rest and relax and have a different pace of life, it's good to be back.

My Disney Movie Marathon: Films from 1950-1977

From this bunch, there were only one I hadn't seen: The Many Adventures of Winne the Pooh.  The rest I had seen at least once, although for some I was so young that I really only had vague memories and couldn't really have retold the plot in great detail. Quarantaine Chronicles: My Disney Movie Marathan

So unless you've been living under a rock, you know that the world kind of got shut down by a little virus known as COVID-19. It seemed to come out of nowhere, and one minute we were toasting to 2020 and talking about "20/20 vision" and other puns, and the next minute we're holed up in our homes social distancing. I am single and live alone. And while I am thankful to be able to work remotely and also have a well-stocked library of books to keep me company, I also needed a little bit of levity and magic injected into my life. So equipped with a friend's Disney+ password, I decided to watch all the Disney Animated Studio films. Some basic guidelines about my list and viewing choices: The movie had to be produced by Disney Animation Studios. On Hiatus

Hi Guys, I know I've been pretty sporadic with my blogging over the years, but I am committing to gearing back up soon! As you know, I've chosen to leave teaching to pursue a career in publishing.
